Oscar who?

So as we all know...the Academy Awards were this weekend. And this was probably the most predictable year ever. I have to admit the only award I am actually happy about is Jamie Foxx's best actor win for "Ray." He was very gracious and humble in accepting the award, and I truly think he was worthy. Hilary Swank just makes me angry...we already knew she was good at playing masculine rolls becuase of her portrayal of a boy in "Boys Don't Cry," so her playing a female boxer was right up her alley. I, personally, don't really think she is that great of an actress...and she's not very pretty. Personally, I think she looks kind of like a horse. Ok, well that's all the input on the Oscars I'm going to give you because if I keep going...this thing would be 8 pages long, lol.
-Can I please tell you how much I LOVE Baked Doritos...seriously, they're delicious!
-Sean Penn is a phenomenal actor. I'm watching "I Am Sam" right now...and he is seriously amazing. I've seen this movie like 4 times before, but for some reason, this time it is extra touching. I've already cried like 3 different times and it's only 45 minutes into the movie.
-I'm heading back home to WPB in a little bit for the remainder of break...well, at least until Thursday night. I was home this past weekend for my sisters' performance at school. Buff sang "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and looked & sounded like Judy Garland. Well, I, personally, liked Amy's performance better. I'm very proud of her.
-I need to go shopping...that's right mom, I do. I would like some cute Spring clothes...
-I DESPERATELY want to go to the lakehouse! I need Big Red. I would definitely like to go there ASAP!
-Ok well I am going to go get my stuff together and get ready to go home again. i will blog again from the homefront. Hope you all have a lovely day! *brit*
*Song of the day- "My Eyes Burn" by Matchbox Romance. Heard it yesterday for the first time and liked it mucho. it's definitely a good one.

WELCOME BACK!

Guess who's back, back again, Brittany's back, tell a friend...
-Yes, that's right my friends, I AM BACK!! After almost a 2-month break from the blog, I have finally decided to resurrect it. There are many reasons as to why I did not blog over the past couple months, with the main one being I simply did not feel myself and that I was dealing with things that made me not want to blog. Let me try to catch you up on a few of the more interesting happenings as of late...
-I'll start with FCC Nationals 2005...wow is all I have to say there. Thursday night, Jan 6 was truly a night to remember, and not for any good reasons. That night almost half of the entire TKA cheerleading bunch got stricken with a terrible strange illness...and who took care of all 20-something of the girls and was up for 32 hours straight? That's right, me and my dear friend Bex did. Oh it was such a sad scene...it hurts me to even think about it now. The JV Squad (which I put a lot of time into and loved them as if I was their coach) didn't even get to perform because most of the sick girls were from their squad. We were all very sad. Varsity, though, got to perform prelims late and made it finals...even with 3 girls not performing due to the "plague." Those 3 girls sucked it up for finals, though, and performed their routine perfectly! Me, Bex, and the coaches, as well as the entire TKA family were SO very proud of them! They ended up placing 2nd, which was wonderful because they beat out their rivals, so we were still happy. Being at Nationals, though, made me really miss cheering...or at least the competing part of it, and it also made me love coaching even more.
-Hm...now perhaps we should skip ahead to Valentine's Day. Oh wait, there's nothing interesting to share about Valentine's Day. I've never really been a fan of that day, but perhaps that's because I've never had a Valentine in all of my 20 years and 6 months of existence, lol. Oh well, though...maybe the year I finally do have one it will be like the best day ever.
-Now I'll tell you about this past weekend...I went up to Mobile, Alabama to visit the Thomas family with Nolan and two of his friends, Jeff and Chris. It had been almost a year since my first and only other visit up there, so I was quite excited to return. It was truly a great treat to see his family, for they are pretty much my family too, and I hadn't seen them in sooo long, so much fun was had. I always enjoy spending time with them, and Mobile is a pretty place and is also fun to visit.
-I have a job again! A couple weeks ago I went in to get my hair highlighted at the Gregory Marshall Blonde Salon up here in Gainesville...and I walked out with blonder hair AND a job! Haha, how awesome is that! I'm an assistant, with duties including shampooing hair, blow-drying and styling hair, answering phones, and doing other miscellaneous jobs around the shop. It is SO much fun! Lol, perhaps I have found one of my callings. Oh, and you know what the best part of it is? The reasons my boss told me she hired me: "you have great hair, you dress cute, and you have a great personality..." haha those were her exact words. I mean, I've always known those things about myself, haha, but it was great to know that those assets got me a job! And the other day, she told me she wanted me to be the girl on her new business card...how cool is that?! Lol, I'm gonna be a model! Haha, not really, but being on a business card is pretty darn super, so I hope she was serious.
-OMG...I have THE most amazing news to tell you all: the other night at the Thomas house, we were all sitting there watching the news, and they showed a LIGER! Yes, that's right, a LIGER! You know, a mix between a lion and a tiger bred for its skills in magic that Napoleon Dynamite spoke of so fondly. Well my friends, a Liger is a real creature. Yes, it was created in a test tube, for a lion and a tiger cannot naturally pro-create, but hey, its a liger nonetheless! When Is aw it on tv, I was speechless with excitement. There were literally no words to describe the joy I was feeling at that moment. I'll come back with a picture of "Hercules" the 900lb Liger that I saw on the news that night...
-Well, I think that is a good return blog for you. My life really has been rather interesting over the past 2 months, but it has been getting back to normal lately, and I should start blogging regularly again. The old Brittany is back, and I'm working on being better than ever! I do hope you all have a wonderful night. Tell all of your friends that the blog has returned for good! Adios! *~*brittany*~*
*Song of the day- "Sitting, Waiting, Wishing" as performed by Jack Johnson. Boy that Jack is so stinkin talented. I heard that song on my drive back from Tally this morning, and downloaded it as soon as I got home and have listened to it like 42 times since...so good!
**Update** 9:30pm--Here now for your viewing pleasure is the picture of the aforementioned Liger. Yes, it is a little bit fuzzy seeing as it is a picture of the television, but you can see the Liger in all it's glory, and I hope it leave you with the same reaction it left me. So now, without any further ado, I present to you...HERCULES!

I did not die...

Now, I know I promised you in my last blog, and pretty much every blog for that matter, that I would be posting more often...so I would like to greatly apologize for my lack of blog presence over the past 18 days or so. You see, for a while there I was rather busy with school and stuff...finals and paper-writing and whatnot, and I just wasn't in the mood to blog. And in the days following finals, I just didn't feel like cranking up the keyboard for a blog session...I just wasn't in the blogging spirit. But now, here I am, a week into my Christmas break and back in WPB, and I finally felt like blogging.
-I would recap for you what the past couple weeks have brought me, but honestly, I do not even remember. I suppose I can give you the run-down of waht I do:
*School is over until Jan 5...yes!
*Um...Nolan's birthday was on Dec. 8, so Happy Birthday to him.
*I've made new friends in Gaineville recently...too bad I have to be away from them for 3 weeks :(
*I helped decorate our yard with Christmas lights...contributing to it's "Bethlehem" appearance.
*While taking one of my finals, the computer at school I was working on crashed, so I had to re-do my entire 1.5 hours of work on my own time. Was NOT happy about that one!
*I got a Mobile Speed-Pass...awesome!
*I've been working at Pop's office all week (and will be for the remainder of my stay here in WPB) and making some sweet moola, which I am in desperate need of.
*And that's really all I remember...
-Funny story: yesterday Pop and I are talking in the kitchen, and he somehow brings up this song he heard that had a fart in the middle of it. I then proceed to ask him more about the song, and figure out that he is referring to Eminem's "Just Lose It." He then tells me that he loves the song and thinks it is absolutely hilarious, which I thought was probably one of the funniest things I have ever heard. Yes, the song is hilarious, but those of you that know my father know that it is a highly unlikely thing for him to say he likes an Eminem song. So that made me laugh...and I think it will make you laugh too.
-So today is yet another wedding in the big TKA group bubble: Randy Stutzman is marrying his longtime girlfriend Jen Longwell. Two very nice people I must say. Randy is one of Isom's best friends, and Isom is a groomsman again. It must be pretty fun being in weddings...I want to be in one (other than my own one day).
-After the wedding I am going down to Ft. Lauderdale to meet up with the roommates and friends to celebrate Daniela's birthday. I'm thinking that's going to be pretty darn fun, so I'll tell you how that one goes when I return.
-Like I said in my last blog, Kelly Clarkson's new CD is positively amazing. That girl can sing, and her songs are just sooo good. I must admit that I am not afraid to sing along and jam out to her music in my car...and the entire His People from TKA can tell you that, they saw me doing it, lol.
-Can I please tell you how much I love bacon? Bacon is so yummy...and I have become quite the bacon-making master. Not that it's really hard, though...
- Speaking of cooking bacon, I think I'm going to go do just that. I'm getting a bit hungry. So this is the end of my return-blog. This time when I promise I will keep the blogging more up-to-date...I actually mean it. I will most likely be checking in with you tomorrow to let you know how the wedding and Daniela's birthday celebration were. I do hope you all have a lovely Saturday. Adios!
*Song of the day- "1,2 Step" by Ciara, deaturing Missy Elliot. This is a very hot song...and I have become quite addiced to listening to it full-blast in my car or on my Pink iPod Mini.

And I'm Back!

Sorry for the mini blog-sabbatical...I just didn't really feel I had much to say. I'm back now, though, which is all that matters anyways.
-Today I have compiled for your reading pleasure a list of things that bother me:
*people who walk REALLY slowly directly in front of you and then stop suddenly, almost causing you to run into them
*bad parking jobs
*people who smell bad and look greasy
*people who push their carts really slowly and in the middle of the aisle when shopping at Publix
*people who drive in the fast lane that go slow
* (pretty much I dislike anything slow, lol...)
*inconsiderate people
*when I can't fall asleep
*really dumb TV commercials (I can't really think of an example right now, but I know I've seen many!)
*foodborne diseases (I just wrote a paper on them...so disgusting!!)
*mean, snobby, bratty people who think they're better than everyone else
*people who sing along to songs and think they sound good when they actually sound absolutely terrible
*not all of those things bothered me today...but they have before, and boy do I not enjoy it!
-I sure do wish it gets cold up here soon! it got chilly for like a day, but now it's all hot again. Supposedly this winter is to be "the coldest ever"...but we have seen no signs of that so far, dadgummit!
-May I please reiterate that I REALLY want to meet Eric Wilbur. I'd like that to be my Christmas present from anyone that can provide it for me =) Hey, it shouldn't cost any money ;)
-I'm kind of craving a REALLY good slice of pizza...like REAL pizza, not any of that Papa Johns, Pizza Hut, or Domino's stuff. I'm craving Famiglia's in NY City, SO good!
-Also craving some good ole Dunkin Donuts...I have yet to find one here in Gainesville, which makes me just a bit sad!
-Saw "Finding Neverland" over Thanksgiving...SOOO good! I highly recommend it to all. One of my favorite movies ever. After astounding performances in Titanic, The Life of David Gale, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Finding Neverland, and I'm sure many others, Kate Winslet is definitely one of my favorite actresses. She is amazing, and extremely talented. And need I even tell you how amazing Johnny Depp is?? I think we all already know he's incredible.
-Alright, that is all. I must work on a paper now...have a lovely night all! Adios!
*Album of the day- Kelly Clarkson's new one "Breakaway"...SOOO great! Kelly is my hero.

GO GATORS!

So as most of you know...the Gators defeated FSU on Saturday night! WHOO HOO! I was quite the happy girl, especially since my man Eric Wilbur punted his best game of his career. He's amazing. Everyone makes fun of the punter and says he's a wussy, but I do not agree. The punter can be a rather vital part of the team, and Eric definitely was just that during Saturday's game. The whole team pulled off magnificent victory, though, and I am so proud! I wish I could have been at the game... Can't wait til next year's football season! Go Gators (& Eric =)!
-You wanna hear a funny story? Well, even if you don't I'm gonna tell you anyways...so my entire fam, along with a few extended family members, were watching the aforementioned game Saturday night, and the tv shows a close of the gator QB Chris Leak. My sister Ram, for some strange reason, then asked "Hey, is that Chris Leak?" Well all responded with sarcastic comments like "no, it's bob," or "no, it's howard..." and just when we all thought the sarcastic responses had come to a halt, my mom says "no, it's take-a!!" It was probably one of the funniest moments ever. mom, she's such a comedian! (And for those of you who didn't get the joke...Chris's last name is Leak, and my mom said "no, it's take a" get it "take a leak"...haha). You may now resume your laughter...
-I went to Titusville this past weekend for a little family reunion to celebrate toosie & Daddy Ike's 50th Wedding Anniversery. It was fun to see the fam, and the celebratory hoe-down with 250 of Titusville's finest old & young folk alike (but mostly old) was rather entertaining. Me and my cousin Kathryn even got hit on/groped by an old one-legged man in a wheelchair (yes, the same man groped both of us)...that was pretty funny. The chicken was good, though!
-Facts of the day:
*I really, really love my Pink iPod Mini
*I am SO looking forward to the Thanksgiving feast
*My domination at Online Texas Hold'Em continues...
*Josh Groban is amazing, his music makes me happy and give me chill bumps
*The Cajun Chicken Pasta from red lobster is awesome, and so are the cheddar biscuits!
*I enjoy Chuck-E-Cheese (is that weird?)
*I GREATLY anticipate the official release of "Finding Neverland"...that movie looks so good!
*It's great when people leave me comments to read =)
*I'm hungry
*I'm wearing pink today...again.
*My love for Ceasar Salad has been restored (not that it ever really left...)
*Sweet cream flavored ice cream with chocolate chips & oreos = DELICIOUS!
*Honestly, The O.C. is kind of letting me down so far this season. No excitement yet...hopefully that will change soon enough.
*Ice skating is fun
*I want to ride a horse...I love riding horses.
-Ok well that's enough facts for today.
-I only have like 1 more official week of classes before my 2 days of finals...I can't believe this semester has gone by so quickly...and I'm kinda sad because I'm just starting to become good friends with a couple people. Hopefully we can still hang out next semester, though.
-this si the end of tonight's blog...I hope you enjoyed. Have a lovely evening. Peace out! *brittany*
**Song of the day- "Do Something" from Britney Spears's Greatest Hits album. It's a previously unreleased song, and I think it's pretty fun.

Avril Lavigne is Great

Yes, she is...ever since her first album "Let Go" was released in 2002, she has been one of my favorite artists. And recently, my love for her new album has been growing. No matter how I am feeling or waht I'm thinking, Avril has a song for me. On both of her albums, there have been 2 or 3 songs from each that explain exactly how I feel about a certain situation, or in my case now, about life in general. Avril is great, and her music is even greater.
-So I ended up not going home last week because the girls on Buff's squad dind't need me to. So I just stayed up here and hung out with the roomies and then was joined by Mom, Pop, & Buff for the UF Homecoming game Saturday. What a great game it was...Chris Leak is incredible, and so is Eric Wilbur (but we already knew that, didn't we =) I'm pretty much thisclose to meeting Eric Wilbur...I've got connections in all the right places =) Things just need to come together so we can meet and be happy, lol.
-Kelly Clarkson is great, and she is just full of talent. And from waht I've seen on TV, she is like one of the nicest people ever. I would like to meet her. It makes me ahppy when Buff's friend Courtney says "You are Kelly Clarkson" (talking to me). I think it's cool that she thinks that...thanks Courto!
-Random info...
*Pink is definitely my favorite color.
*I think I have one of the most comfortable beds ever
*Oh how I wish I was in California right now...
*Guys who admit they love The O.C. are really cool
*"The Exies" are a great band
*Oliver James is hot
*My love for buttered toast has recently been renewed
*Parents, I REALLY miss the grilled cheese sandwiches from Mayacoo
*I really love watching bull-riding on TV, and I would really love it if I could see a PBR event LIVE!
*I really am amazing at Texas Hold 'Em Poker!
*I miss Ernie & Wedgie...they're the best dogs ever
*I would like to learn how to surf
*Hayden Christensen ( of Life As A House, Shattered Glass, Higher Ground TV Series, and the new Star Wars Trilogy) is an incredible actor, and I think he's officially my favorite...and he's hot
*Tyler Hilton is amazing. I love his music..."Pink and Black" is my favorite song of his right now. And he looks like Hayden Christensen...how hot =)
-Ok well I think that's enough for today. No "anything" of the day because I have talked about to many different artists and songs and movies in the blog already. You can pick your own today. Adios! *brittany*

Food

It seems that there is really only one thing i think about while I'm in class...and that's food. I honestly don't know why this is, but it seems to always be the case, at least in my night class I have on Monday and Wednesdays. Maybe because it's around dinner-time perhaps?
-Well, it seems that I am going home again tomorrow. This time, though, I'm going home to help with Buff's cheer squad. I promise, this is the last time I will go home before Thanksgiving.
-Apparently I talk about TV a lot on this here Blog...so I will do my best to refrain from doing so. Except for The OC, of course...I will speak about that show as much as I please.
-Jude Law is beautiful. I think that this has become a rather well-known fact, amongst most ladies anyways. And do not think that I am jumping oh the bandwagon of Jude Law-loving. I actually never really liked him much, nor thought he was very attractive-until I saw him on Saturday Night Live the other week (sorry...a tv comment). It was one of the best episodes of the show I have seen in a while, even though I don't really watch it that often, and Jude was fabulous on it...and he looked great. Then I saw Alfie...and my only thoughts after seeing him in that were that I really think he may be one of the most beautiful men on the planet. Oh, and that British accent...so hot!
-This weekend is UF's Homecoming Game against South Carolina. Wouldn't be surprised if we lost, though...but I sure am hoping we win. This will be only the 2nd home game I have attended this year...a little bit sad.
-I think I'm a Starbucks addict...those Java Chip Frappacinos are just so delicious!
-Ok well I am going to finish my laundry now and find something to eat...cause I'm a bit hungry. Have a lovely night everyone...adios! *brittany*
*Song of the day- "Letters From War" by Mark Schultz. I heard it for the first time on some random Christian radio station around Orlando last week as I was on my way home...and I just started bawling. It is such an incredible song, and I still tear up now even though I've since downloaded it (legally) and listened to it like 30 times. I highly recommend that you all listen to it, maybe you'll be moved by it too...

4 MORE YEARS!

After falling asleep to the Fox News Channel and waking up to periodically throughout Tuesday night to check the election results...at around 11:30am yesterday morning, I awoke to this headline: BUSH IS RE-ELECTED-KERRY CONCEDES! I, personally can not think of anything better to wake up to...except perhaps George himself standing in my home with my family announcing his voctory. Let's just say that I am a very happy girl and firmly believe that the right man is in office yet again.
-In just a few short moments I will be departing my lovely abode here in Gainesville to go home to celebrate the return of The O.C. with my family...and then tomorrow we are all off to the Lake to celebrate Buff's 14th birthday. Wow, 14...Buff you're getting old!!
-Yes, you heard that correctly my friends... THE OC RETURNS TONIGHT! WHOO HOO! Now, I know you all know that I have already seen the first episode, as well as the second episode of this 2nd season of our favorite show...so you're probably wondering why I am still so excited. And there is a simple answer to that: I am pretty much obsesed with the show. I can't help it, it is just a fact about myself I have grown to appreciate. The OC is probably the only show, besides Saved By the Bell, that I could watch over and over without ever tiring of it. Well, and maybe the Cosby Show too...that show's hilarious!
-Alright well I must resume my packing now, for I plan to leave in about a half hour...I do hope you all have a lovely day! Watch The OC!! If yo've never seen it, you're in for a treat! I know you'll love it! Peace out! *brittany*
*Song of the day- "Any Way You Want It" by Journey. It plays on The OC official website as you enter it...and I think it's a pretty darn great song! I had heard it before, but after hearing it on the site I downloaded it and have pretty much been listening to it constantly. Journey is cool.
